In India, the wedding rituals and customs are mainly based on religion or community. The community only decides the kind of wedding ceremony that a couple would have. There are many people in India who don't believe in the grand and elaborate rituals of the Hindu wedding function. For them who are not so particular about their religion and community a special community wedding, is organized, which is not so rigid in its rituals and customs but at the same time based on the Vedic rites and customs than Arya Samaj wedding is the right choice for them. An Arya Samaj wedding can also be incorporated with any other Hindu community wedding. As everyone knows Swami Dayanand Saraswathi founded that Arya Samaj. The Arya Samaj weddings are performed as per Vedic rites. According to the principle the Arya Samaj conducts weddings only for Hindus. But for non-Hindus who want to have an Arya Samaj wedding the Samaj would allow them to get married according to the Arya Samaj traditions but before that they have to be converted through a process called 'Shuddhi' meaning purification.

The Arya Samaj wedding ceremony is performed with the fire and other elements as the witnesses since they don't believe in idol worshipping. In an Arya Samaj wedding the mantras, which are chanted are translated into a language that the couple can understand this makes the wedding ceremony all the more special as the couple can relate themselves to the meaning and significance of the wedding mantras. This wedding is different from the traditional Hindu wedding in the sense that it does not involves elaborate rituals and the ceremony is not extended over a long period of time. Simplicity is the main essence of Arya Samaj wedding. The wedding ceremony lasts for an hour or so and the wedding expense is very low compared to the normal traditional Hindu wedding.

The main rituals of the wedding are as follows:

Madhuparka is a ritual in which the bride and the groom arrive at the venue of the wedding the groom partakes of 'Madhuparka', which is a mixture of honey, curds and cream. The bride gives the groom water three times, which he sprinkles on his feet, over his body and drinks it the third time. Similarly, the groom also follows the ritual. This ritual symbolizes the commencement of their journey into a happy married life. The ritual of kanyadaan is the one in which the parents of the bride offer their daughter's hand in marriage to the groom. Havanv is the ritual where the wedding is solemnized in front of the Agni or holy fire, which is considered life. The priest chants the mantras invoking blessing for happy married life. In the Pani Grahan Sanskar the groom takes the bride's hands in his and chants mantras promising to be beside her in times of need and look after all her needs. Than there are rituals like Shilarohan, Lajahom, Parikrama , and Saptapadi, which are followed. Lastly the ritual ends with the Aashirwaad ceremony where the newly wedded couple takes the blessing of all the elders in the family.

Hi

The Arya Samaj wedding has no elaborate rituals. The wedding rites are few, but rich in significance, and the Vedic mantras chanted during the process are explained to the couple so that the significance is not lost on them.

The Arya Samaj wedding is an option for people of all religions - any one can have an Arya Samaj wedding. The pre-wedding and post-wedding ceremonies depend on the regional and cultural background of the couple. An Arya Samaj wedding is centered around fire worship and marks the transition of the couple from Brahmacharya ashram (the state of celibacy) to Grihastashram (the life of a married person.

As you seem to be living in Hyderabad, you can approach the following address to initiate action and get further details.

Arya Samaj Mandir, Kachiguda Hyderabad 500027

Good luck.

This is the contact address of Arya Samaj. The Arya Samaj wedding has no elaborate rituals. The wedding rites are few, but rich in significance, and the Vedic mantras chanted during the process are explained to the couple so that the significance is not lost on them. as far the general process of marriage in Arya Samaj Mandir is concerned, you need to file one application form for marriage mentioning the details of both bride & groom, to be duly signed & witnessed by two adult witnesses who shall also be witnessing the marriage ceremonies. Along with the application for both bride & groom give individual affidavit with regard to their age & other details to be attested by the Notary Public. The application form & Performa of affidavit one can get from the Arya Samaj Mandir. The proof of age & residence along with passport size photographs of the parties & in some cases even of the witnesses will be required for the purpose of marriage by Arya Samaj Mandir authorities as well the Registrar The Marriage certificate one gets from the Arya Samaj Mandir can be used for getting the marriage registrar with the Registrar of Marriages taking the two witnesses who witnessed the marriage shall witnessing the registration of marriage too. You need not get Registrar to present at the time of marriage, however if you want to make some gazetted officer or relative of either party as one of the witness you can do so otherwise there is no such legal compulsion for Arya Samaj marriage. A lawyer is needed to get the attestation of the documents/affidavit & registration process only. May be the procedure may change from city to city so you can contact the above number and enquire the exact requirements.

Before explaining I strictly recommend to convince both your parents over a period of time "ITS VERYMUCH POSSIBLE"

You can register at you place or at her place "Any one place where you have the Ration or Family card"

Yes you need 3 people to sigh for witness.

Docs: 1. Ration card 2. Marriage Invitation 3. Iyer certificate or Marriage hall certificate or the church certificate 4. Individual Photo 5. Marriage photo (Sometimes they ask for it) 6. 20rs stamp paper and the application to be filled 7. You need to register to submit the application and get the date of registration 8. If you are newly married you may be asked to get you parents/guardian

You can also find a writer who will be having small offices near the rigter office itself, he should completely help you in this. He can also speedup the process.

I got my certificate in 5days. But usually its 1month.

All the best for both your future.

Since your both are in love and eligible to get married as per minimum age specified in marriage laws in India i.e. minimum 18 years for girls and 21 years for boys to be completed. You can get either court marriage or through Arya Samaj customs of solemnization. Marriage by Arya Samaj customs is simple – but both of you should belongs to Hindu religion and they will follow the Hindu symbolic customs of marriage solemnization. A simple affordable fees to be paid to Arya Samaj for the same. For marriage not much documents is required. But after marriage you have to register it with the sub-registrar or the marriage officer of the locality you belongs to along with the your age, address proof, marriage evidence such as letter from Arya Samaj, wedding photos, witnesses etc. and to obtain a marriage certificate in order to get your marriage a legally approved one.

hai There are lots of if n buts are involved here. But she does need at copy of a)Ration Card, b)a copy of either PAN card or Voter ID card c) School leaving cert with DOB mentioned. These are must need documents to get her passport. But still contact a passport agent, he may works out something better for you.

As long as the girl is not minor, and the marriage is done with the consent of her. I guess, no one can do anything to you.

I would suggest do the registry marriage first. Make this legaly secured. Then try to apply for her passport in Tatkaal OR Have ur marriage at Arya Samaj Temple..as pics are needed for visa purpose.

You need to consult a lawyer. But if you do registry marriage, you can get ur certificate within an hour. or max by nextday. Pls do find a good passport agent and have word with him. Pls note that you may have to spend lil more money, but i guess there is a solution for each problem. Thanks

Arya Samaj marriages are legal, but you have to book in advance for your marriage to take place. for registration you need both birth certificate or 10th or 12th certificate for proof of age. i am not sure what is the cost currently but you can contact the Arya Samaj near you and find out the details. But i would say that try to convience both of your parents if you are stable in our life.

Marriage performance and registration are 2 different aspects.Marriage can be performed anywhere, from temples, marriage halls, or special marriages, arya samaj etc. But based on the marriage performance, registration done with the Marriage Registar's Office. The age , Idendity and other criteria should be satisfied for the marriage.

It is always better to marry with the blessings of parents. But you seem to have taken a decision in this matter.

Arya Samaj marriages are not costly. Visit the Arya Samaj and fix up a date. They will tell you the details. Same day they will issue a marriage certificate. Arya Samaj marriage is legally valid.
