type 'command' and press enter
once in the command prompt, type chkdsk C: /r
You can replace C: with your own drive name. /r is a parameter that looks for bad sectors

You could try formatting the disk (complete format, not quick format) to remove the bad sectors. Be sure to back-up all the adat in the disk.

You can not remove bad sectors in a HDD, all yopu can do is maek them as bad sectors so with scandisk so that no data is written at that location.

U can create a bootable xp cd by copying an original (or pirated) cd of xp by a software named clone cd. Bootable cd's are generally copy write protected, but u can copy it with clone cd.
